who else got scared with this game when played as a kid?
I played it with my cousin and we got super scared with things like the hospital murder or parts where you could die.

Sleeping Dragon Nico is high test.

By the way, who agrees that Sleeping Dragon wasn't bad at all? The literal dragon was too much and the crates got boring, but I really liked how it continues the first game's story. I wish they would have had more continuity (and that seems to have been the original plan given that BS3 leaves the Petra thread open) instead of the floating timeline they have now, it makes the games sort of meaningless if there are no consequences to what George and Nico do. Angel of Death was a total shitfest though, an interesting story idea completely fucked by terrible gameplay.

I remember sleeping Dragon with charm, but because I also played it as a kid, If I would have played the saga now for the first time I'm sure I wouldn't like it at all.
There's not lateral thinking puzzles, and when there are they are easy or total clichés (the puzle of the pencil, key and newspaper? really?) ,the crates puzles are terrible, and there's so much of them It's cheap; the quick time events are bad (also, why make the prompts so tiny?); the continuous references to previous games are also a cheap way to make you like the game, I haven't played 4 and 5, but for what I've heard Cecil makes even more references and bring back more old characters, like if he couldn't have new ideas and had to rely on nostalgia.
Also, fuck not being able to skip dialogue and cutscenes.

Anyway, things I really liked:
graphics, I thought they were amazing at that time
Nico
The castle, even with the simplistic stealth element
Bruno's death, both me and my cousin cried at that part, I think It was the first time I cried with a videogame, even with the voice acting being terrible at our language.

Inventory puzzles are easy (even easier than in previous BS games) and there's tons of crates, but there are also some cool spatial puzzles in the power sites. I wish there were more of those. I liked the "quick time events" when they involved you moving or running rather than just pushing a button. The games' biggest fault is not being able to skip dialogue. But all in all I don't think it was a bad game. But maybe that's because I played Angel of Death afterward.

4 and 5 are quite the opposite of what you describe. 4 eschews the entire backstory and the only thing that remains is that George decoded the manuscript in 1. The story has interesting ideas (if you don't care about spoilers, it's about a Catholic order wanting to use the ark of the covenant's "angel of death" to massacre non-believers and prove to the world that god exists) but the execution is a mess. The controls are buggy and laggy, puzzles are terrible, characters lack charisma, the writing is seldom good and the graphics are horrible. 3 looks a way better. Also the ending is abysmal in the sense that the game just... ends. There's no payoff at all, you're just sent to the credits as they appear on the options menu.

It has no recurring characters outside of George, Nico, and Duane. 5 is a lot better as a game, but it also operates under the illusion that nothing from the other games ever happened. So it makes no sense when they pretend that they don't know that ley lines, gods, and supernatural powers exist.
