Yeah, this. Bought it for the techno, and ended up loving the game, really surprised me. It doesn't get nearly enough love on ps1 threads.

Yep. This game fucking kicks my ass. Yesterday I nearly broke the cartridge playing it. Don't worry, it's only a repro.

But this game is way too fucking hard for me. I understand that you have to be really patient but I don't think I can do it. I don't think I'll ever beat it. I always get royally fucked by missing my whip by a couple pixels or enemies having ridiculous range. Yes, I fucking suck at Castlevania but I think the first game was much easier than this one.

After ragequitting yesterday I decided to play through Comix Zone. Then it glitched out in that long panel in page 2-2 with the female enemies. If you use the rat to get rid of them, the game won't register them as dead and thus won't allow you to progress. Fuck my life.

It is not harder than CV1 really, but it's longer and does have some bullshit like all CV games have.
If you're playing a version that has limited continues, just play the japanese version, Vampire Killer.

Honestly I don't care about limited lives/continues. If I wanted to I could just slap Game Genie in to fix that. I just suck at the game, period.

Love the Turok 2/Rage Wars OST for the GBC, but the games are just too terrible for me to enjoy.

Treasure master for NES.

Might have grabbed the game at some point if I came across it for a couple bucks but the incredible Tim Follin soundtrack makes it one worth seeking out.
