Is this a contender for the best videogame of all time?

>> No.3521880

Can I emulate this?

>> No.3521943

of course not. it's only notable as the "first."

I find it pretty impressive for a first.
It beats out a lot of games that came over a decade later in terms of complexity with gravity, inertia and limited fuel and ammunition.

That doesn't look like Tennis For Two.

Tennis for Two and all the other stuff at the time only ran on a single system. Spacewar could be played on any PDP-1 and was ported to other computers as well.

yeah, so? it's not like you're about to take spacewar over to Bill's house and run it on his PDP. It was a friggin supercomputer.

It meant you could play it at your local university or in some companies.
Spacewar also inspired others to make their own games instead of just being a curiosity at a science fair. Games like Asteroids trace their lineage to it.

>> No.3522863

Nah, there's tons of games with way better gameplay
