Honestly probably gonna be harder than Dark Souls

I'm hoping Nightmare Mode is comparable to a no-souls Demon's Souls run actually

The various difficulty settings of PE2 are fantastic, and they really make use of the game's mechanics. Someone who has only played normal mode has seen nothing of this game.

Love PE2.

I honestly expected more scavenging

>> No.3509131

Are the enemy spawns different on Nightmare mode? Scavenger mode seems mostly the same as normal mode so far (there was one room where it seemed like there were 3 strangers where I remembered there being 2)

Plasma is still OP enough that I basically don't get hit and I feel like it's all just as easy as normal mode.

Actually the fast babies are a little bit scary.

>> No.3509505

>>3507407

For the hardest modes, I mostly used the gun you get for free from that guy after killing that big boss. I just went back and forth to the infinite ammo spots a lot.

Nightmare is only the end game enemies for the entire game + bosses. With very little health and ammo.

PE2 does have amazing replay value due to the way the difficulty modes are handled. They change the experience dramatically.

Focusing on different weapons in different playthroughs can change things up quite a bit as well. Nearly every weapon in the game has its own niche and is at least situationally useful.

hahaha holy shit is it even possible to kill these without combat items on Scavenger and Nightmare?

I need to remember to carry pepper spray at all times, thank god you can buy it on this mode

Sometimes after running around he'll just stand at some point in the arena waiting for you. This is your cue for getting from behind and spam the best thing you have from the safest distance.

>>3509740
The pistol that you get from the Blizzard Chaser fight has a light that stuns them. IIRC there is another weapon with this attribute too.

But yes, you don't have that for the first fight. I remember beating him without items but it was the hardest part of the game, iirc on the harder difficulties he kills you in one or two hits.

>>3512036
Time your grenade launcher hits. IIRC if you do it right you have time to shoot two grenades before running off during his vacuum attack, aim for its mouth, don't bother with the rest.

Bounty and Nightmare are amazing; but I was a little disappointed by Scavenger indeed. It is definitely harder than the regular game but it plays mostly the same asuming you weren't a bitch during your normal playthrough.

I honestly didn't realize how OP Plasma was until my 3rd playthrough btw. It makes such a different at the end of the game especially against those fuckers that can only get hit by MP attacks.

did anyone save the old PE2 webms posted here a while back?

>> No.3513005

The weapon attachment light actually functions differently than the expendable item and isn't powerful enough to stun him off the ceiling.

Hammer spam works, but otherwise the only choice is to burn a Combat Light/Pepper Spray or cast Apobiosis, then burn your entire PE gauge on Lvl 3 Pyrokinesis. At least, on scavenger that's how it worked out for me.

>I was a little disappointed by Scavenger indeed.
It's really a slog. It's boring if you just came off of Bounty Mode, and almost just wears down your patience and attention span more than anything. I just wiped in Neo Ark (UGH) and lost like an hour of progress when I got gang banged by a jungle stranger that charged at me from off screen and teamed up with his buddy.

I'm actually looking forward to Nightmare mode where I won't have to deal with my PE being so weak the entire game.

Aya caught a cold? That doesn't sound good.

>> No.3518291

Hey remember how 1 was you bopping around all the internationally renowed locations in NYC? Yeah, let's do none of that for 2. Instead let's tease LA for a bit, then put you in some no name desert city? Oh and remember in RE games they have a big lab section for the last section of the game? This time that's like 3/4 of the game.

Because of this thread, I was looking up what the hell this meant. But searching for "condition" and PE2, just brought up descriptions of the various replay modes.

So what does the sick condition even mean?

It means you start with half as much health

that's it

because the enemies are also stronger, this means everything will kill you in about one hit until you find good enough armor and eat enough vitamins

the tiny striped stalkers will get stunned, but the huge skin colored ones basically don't give a fuck about almost everything and only expendable items or apobiosis will completely stun them for more than just a second

>Originally, there were no humans in the game, just cyborgs! It was supposed to be a horror game, still, but by having these Terminator-style characters, it just wasn’t very scary at all. I decided to change up the characters. The initial draft had a mad scientist-like doctor who was doing freakish experiments.
>I ended up redesigning the characters who would wind up having defining roles in the game, like Chris, Jill, and Wesker, as well as creating the Umbrella Corporation as an enemy, and concepts like the T-virus. I also wrote all of the diary entries and files you find throughout the game.
Of course, you french fry would prefer the version with robits.
