Was there ever a reason given that Magus couldn't turn Glenn back if just asked politely?

Frog mentions a couple times that he actually kinda likes his new form. It might just be weak bantz but there is the chance that Frog has truly self-actualized more strongly as Frog than as Glenn.

No. The one big flaw of CT in my opinion. Whether you accepted or rejected Magus's alliance at the cape should have affected whether you got stuck with frog Frog or he got turned back to human.

The real answer is they just didn't want to have to re-do all his techs if got changed back halfway through the game since some relied on him having a long tongue.

I miss an uber boss in Chrono Trigger.
Lavos is pathetically easy if you know to how to maximize your characters, you can beat him with Crono alone and even then he's still not hard.
Spekkio's Nu form ain't that hard either, and definetely not rewarding.

>> No.3488637

>>3488630
if you want an uber boss, fight Ocean Palace Lavos. the shell has 30,000 hp and keeps cycling through attacks. I've beaten it, but I had to switch battle time to wait (for the first and only time in the game). the inner forms are the same.

Lavos is not so pathetically easy if you confront him around level 40-50.

>>3488583
that wasn't the only flaw. they didn't use the forest music enough, Woolsey's translation has minor issues, and they should've added a hardmode for more replayability. with that said it's still a masterpiece of gaming.

as I was saying, it's way more challenging when you're around Lavos' level (50). the game makes it easy to get way overleveled. when you're level ** you can slice through enemies like a knife through butter.

if you want to fight nu spekkio, I'd recommend using PAR to get there quickly, as black omen runs get tedious after awhile.

I did read. I agree that nu spekkio is more of an easter egg and not that rewarding, but he's something at least.

the fact remains that if you're that powerful in the ocean palace, you went out of your way to grind in the elevator or somewhere else. if you play through without grinding (not really a llg/arbitrary restriction), then ocean palace lavos is an uber-boss.

We don't. This is not an adult drama, it's a game aimed for teenagers with Toriyama's goofy art-style. Frog canonically gave up from killing Magus.

We don't even know if Magus was in fact evil or just indifferent. Sure he killed Cyrus, but it was Cyrus who went after Magus' head.

I guess MGS1 comes the closest. It's honestly pretty down to Earth and believable. I could see it written into a novel if Tom Clancy or someone had done it. But then MGS2 onward just goes batshit insane and ruins the tone.

RDR wasn't too bad, but not too amazing either. Kind of generic western story.

As far as RPGs go I'd put Chrono Trigger at or near the top. It's pretty cool with the mix of time periods and the cast is pretty good too.

What is weird about it? It's sci-fi, so if you can accept some future technology like cloak suits and mechas it's not too far fetched. It's really tame compared to MGS3 where it's got a guy who spits bees at you and shapes swarms of them into the shape a tommy gun.

>> No.3494626

Yeah floating psychics, nuclear robots, cyber ninjas, and clones fighting clones are totally believable. Not to mention targeted diseases, PMCs taking over a US military base, one of those clones killing a guy and taking his place in a really overly convoluted ploy to fool the infiltrator...about theonly thing realistic is snow in Alaska but even that depends on time of year.

>> No.3494643

>>3489274
that's another minor flaw in CT, no ultimate water spell.

>> No.3494671

>>3494636
Psycho Mantis was based on remote viewers employed by the military in the 60s and 70s, and maybe even later. Whether they were legit or not we don't know but the military did have so-called psychics on payroll.

Nuclear robots, not hard to imagine as being possible. We could probably build one now but it wouldn't do much walking around.

Cyber ninjas, as I said it's sci-fi, so it's not there yet but they have artificial eyes now that let blind people "see" (vague black/white shapes) so improvements to prosthetics and artificial components will only get better.

Clones are already real. We can clone animals so there's nothing to say we can't do a person too outside of morality.

I doubt Foxdie could work exactly as they say it does in the game because Kojima is not a real microbiologist, but changing a virus' DNA to make it only target specific other strands certainly sounds possible, if not now then soon. If they can insert jellyfish DNA into rats to make them glow in the dark I don't see how genetic viruses are too far fetched.

Again, compare all this to spitting tamed bees or a literal ghost man or a man able to shoot lightning from his body at will. MGS1 is really realistic in comparison.
