Can we have a Daggerfall thread? I'm just getting into it and it's a lot of fun.

I also have some questions about the game that I hope more experienced players can answer.

>> No.3487834

For example the Knightly Orders. I can only join one. Is there any difference besides the "free inns" or eventual house I can get?

Do any of them give different quests or different rewards?

Okay, every guild as such (including temples and knightly orders) has skill requirements, as well as reputation requirements, in order to advance. This is very restrictive in comparison to modern TES games; it essentially means you can't be master of everything. Although I guess you could design a character specifically to gain access to as many guilds as possible, but keep in mind that every quest you take has a time limit, and your reputation will drop over time no matter what. So even if you could join them all, you'd spend all your time doing busywork juggling reputation.

I believe all the knightly quests are randomly generated.

I don't need to join everything really, I was just curious what I might miss out on if I join the Knightly Order of Dragons vs Roses.

I really wish the future games had clothing options like Daggerfall. Morrowind had some colorful, diverse options but I feel like everything became more boring and brown the farther into the series you go.

Even if it looks more cartoony I still prefer some color to my character's clothing options.

Daggerfall is shit, morrowind, oblivion, and even skyrim are better than it.

Really? What build/type of character are you playing?

I'm playing for the first time and picked a warrior type and did okay with it. I changed the controls to do mouselook + wasd so that also helped.

I would love a fallout game done in this graphical style. Exploring enormous vaults and abandoned military bases in first person.

Joining numerous factions and having some kind of vehicle (a motorcycle could replace the horse).

There's something about exploring dungeons in this game that I just don't get from other Elder Scrolls games. It's creepier and feels like a real D&D style experience.

Keep projecting your insecurities daggerfallfag, maybe someday you'll admit your shit game has nothing on other retro games that can do what it tried to do, only significantly better.

I'm not even mad, because of how wrong you are about everything. Daggerfall was the reason man was put on Earth.

Usually future games in a series are worse than retro games in the series. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Even Skyrim while being waterdown games for casuals, are still better than fucking daggerfall.

Also, the games recommended in the picture like nethack, quake/doom, and fallout are all retro. Very good games all of them.

None of them are open world action RPGs.

Pic related.

Did you mean to post a picture? Or are you referencing something else.

I'm not 100% in Daggerfall for gameplay. I don't like isometric games (fallout), ascii games seem out of my element and I'm not into shooters.

I was hoping you'd talk about other fantasy dungeon crawlers. The other retro ones about either aren't first person or are party-based.
