Fucking love this. Only thing I could think to improve is to use a SNES mini since TV has just composite.

Shitty pic but here's my current desk set up. My Trinitron broke so I won't bother showing my bigger gaming set up because it needs to be replaced and the whole area needs a make over. But this desk set up works really well. My Amiga 1080 accepts composite, S-Video, and RGB, but I'm stuck with S-Video until I get some 9 Pin D-Sub connectors to make custom cables with.

I don't think she really likes the SNES. Honestly that reaction sounds like a person who is a "nerd" for cred and attention but would balk at the idea of pretty much anything that would demonstrate being a true (or what they might call "creepy") fan of the thing. Like it is OK to watch GameGrumps, wear a Mario shirt, attention cosplay at a con, or talk about how you love 16bit yo, but when the line is drawn when it comes to buying expensive games beyond Earthbound or buying a dedicated display for your old consoles. Or the kinds of people who'd go out to a park at night to play Pokemon Go because they love Pokemon, but the minute someone brings up how much fun they have playing Red on an original GB or competitive training and battling suddenly they're not as interested of a fan. Or someone who will dress up as She-Thor at a convention but has never been interested in any Marvel thing beyond the MCU films.

The room is only like this when games aren't being played as it gives us more space for activities.

The sofa has these easy slide feet thing on the legs so I just spin it around to face the TV etc when using it, it has enough room at the side of it to easily walk past so you're not "trapped" between it and the TV when in use.

- Mario Kart 64 (N64)
- Double Dragon (NES)
- Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

Pretty sure the 1st DK image is bad. The last image of Mario's face is a separate image from the 1st MK64 one, not cropped.

Pretty sure I also got 60hz lines in the 1st MK64 image, which unfortunately idk how to get rid of when taking pictures...

The newest version (DDR A) just had a limited release in American arcades about 2 months ago. Before that there hadn't been an official release since X2 back in 2010.

Console DDR has been dead for years though. Just Dance pretty much blew it away in popularity.

No. Storms are the main cause of damage lol. That's what "backups" would be. There actually was a problem with drainage when I moved in, there's a tree that reaches its roots into the ancient tile culvert that leads to the sewer and the basement did flood as a result of the drainage also being wrong. Before I moved in I had to have new basement walls poured to the tune of $5000 even using my own men. I was aware it can get wet down there though so from the beginning I had a rule of thumb that nothing be within a foot of the floor and I kept things away from the drain (low) corner so it never actually got close to them the time it flooded bad enough I had the roots professionally ground and I used a sump pump to make double sure of that. Being a home owner is fucking work. I'm as lazy as any typical Anon and I may kind of live a redneck lifestyle but you still have to take care of yourself, be taken care of or die.

I have a couple of those projectors. I used to use Lightware/Optoma brand VP800 projectors because of their low price and cheap bulbs but then I lost my VGA adapter dongle and there's only one guy who makes them and he charges out the ass for them so I switched to my current models, Promethean/Sanyo PRM-10/20/30 that are very common as school surplus with a higher resolution and shorter throw than the Lightwares. They're always missing their remotes though and they have no controls on the projector itself! So they're more of a gamble not just because for that reason they're usually sold as-is but also because when a six dollar 500 hour lamp is almost dead it's much less of a pain than if a sixty dollar 10,000 hour lamp is - especially when you only paid $20 for the projector. I have a big honkin CRT projector as well I just haven't installed it anywhere. Thinking about mounting it up under my back porch roof to make an outdoor display you can use light guns with.

I am incredibly jealous of the fact you actually have something to put your Megaview on.

The only thing I have in the house that could possibly support it is a massive coffee table that would be essentially impossible to get up into the attic.

Well, unless I could manage to do something with this old torn apart pool table, but that'd just be comical.

How much would you say the materials for that little stand cost you all together?

The plastic becomes more brittle with age, and corners are just the most obvious place for something to chip.

The fact that it's the corner most likely to be pushed hard into something should the first player's controller be jerked suddenly just adds to the chances that the front left corner would be the one most commonly damaged.

Vacs-n-Vids is decent too from what I've heard. They have arcade machines too. Haven't been in ages due to disliking the black methhead with the dreads that works there. lol

Vacs-n-Vids sucks. They have shelves full of hundreds of copies of the games nobody wants, stuff in the store is overpriced, and the store itself looks like a dump. The games typically are in rather poor condition as well.

The arcade in the back is really the only reason to go there, unless you want to look at the blatant reproduction cartridge of Earthbound they're trying to sell for $100~ because the one of the guys was a dumbass and bought it online without reading the listing.
