The N64 was a fucking mistake. Nothing good came out of it, and in fact gave birth to all the terrible shit that festered gaming. We can thank the N64 for:

Multiplatform focus instead of exclusives,
Japanese games being downplayed,
Mario and Mario spinoffs being the lifeblood of the console,
Multiplayer-focused games with arbitrary singleplayer modes,
Abysmal framerates,
Popularization of sports games and console shooters, and most importantly,
Western games.

Video games would be 10 times better had the N64 not existed.

Kek, I actually stumbled upon this video on youtube a couple days ago. Anyway, the poor framerate is actually very noticeable in these old Rareware games on N64, I really never gave a fuck to be honest. PD slows down to single digit only when you play 4 players with many bots, I played it multiplayer with 2 more people and never used many bots, so the framerate was always around 15-25 (PAL version here) which was acceptable for me back then. Even nowdays I can stand stable 30fps games without sperging out like everyone on /v/, unless it's a game that actually needs the 60fps such as racing or fighting.

>>3430472
PD is Goldeneye on steroids. It's far better in every possible way. Except maybe the story which is fucking retarded and the big reveals & final levels are shit and rushed. The frame rate only dropped low when you had 4 players and 8 bots, which to be entirely fair was quite far out for the time. Im one of 4 brothers so we played 4 player but just used 6 bots to get over this.

You can tell the OP has never played n64 or perfect dark, and therefore is 1, a faggot 2, has never lived and 3, his opinion is void.

Also ; the single player in PD is pretty good desu. Some cheats are mad hard to get and I think the story is actually pretty decent ; it's inventive, they predicted barack Obama (for real) and it's better than any COD single player mode.
Also, the area 51 aliens and other pop culture references ; indepdendce day features heavily, the film Air Force One is pastiches brilliantly, Blade Runner... I think it's brilliant. Even the MagSec4 is taken form Robocop.

What's not to love?

Also you can tell whoever posted the video is a faggot and probably a weeaboo since they're playing (genuinely for real) against Meat Sims.

Sort of, but not quite. The N64 version of Q2 seems to actually have a fairly consistent framerate, but the frame-time itself is fucked. It's bad no matter what is happening.

PS1 version drops significantly if there's more than two enemies visible at once. But it does a good job in enemy-free rooms.
