Shitty auction / CL / listing general?

He pulled this before. Not sure if the previous buyer returned it or if he is just repeating a scam and hoping to catch yet another sucker ("1 bid," so it looks like he has). Pretty good trick: take a really cheap cart, rip off the label, wipe off all residue, and call it a possible prototype to turn your $2 game into an $80 sale.

Yeah followed by an $80 refund and ebay account termination.

Fantastic money-making scheme you have there...

Sadly some of the people who buy this stuff likely have no idea what the fuck they're doing anyway. The last one he sold earned him a positive feedback. I wonder if the buyer opened it up to check the board and played the game, though if he just pissed away $80 on SMB/DH he'd probably be too embarrassed to admit that he was scammed (or at the very least overpaid for an item from an ignorant seller). The seller's weasel-word listing might deter some people from demanding a refund.

Not quite as shady, but still pretty diluted trying to sell a $40 romhack cart for ten times as much. "Very rare NES game!" he says...

This guy is selling burned Dreamcast games. The title sounds to good to be true, and it is. It's click bait.

Here's the listing link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/6-Sega-Dreamcast-Games-Gigawing-2-Record-of-Lodoss-War-Mars-Matrix-More-/272340646824?hash=item3f68c47ba8:g:YdUAAOSwDuJWy~9Z

I sent in an eBay report in to hopefully get this piece of shits auction closed down, but I doubt they care enough to actually do anything. Still, fuck this guy.

I guess ebay is fine with selling bootlegs and everdrives now. Funny that Aliexpress is slowly removing them.

>> No.3429116

>>3429091

All they care about is sold listing fees. Same reason they don't discourage people from relisting the same overpriced BINs for a year, because ebay themselves is hoping some idiot will jump in and buy some of them. Yeah, it makes them money in the short term, but in the long run I'd imagine that it'll deter some people from using ebay as much when they find out they have inadvertently bought bootlegs. It also furthers ebay's reputation of being a wasteland of overpriced crap that never sells.

Dunno they removed all flashcarts few years back when the R4's for DS was big, its only the last few months ive seen them come back.

And I make my living on ebay, most the stuff on there is making pennies.

>> No.3429160

>>3429154

Apparently they also used to remove prototype listings but they don't any more. The fact that they apparently don't remove the flash cards you're talking about says something about their current policies.

Do they even remove repros?

>Do they even remove repros?
Not really, people just generally dont list them as repros(or mention it anywhere, even when its obvious).

I remember someone selling a huge nes lot, but it said they haven't tested anything and the conditions were like shit to great. The thing is no one seems to think this justifies a lower price and from a business standpoint that's crazy if you're the buyer.
