Nvidia Shield is nice for android emulators. I have one, and it's what I use it for.

I've been using a GS7 with a Bluetooth controller. Bretty gud. Alot of anons here recommend a psp, but I doubt they have ever used one for it. Dpad sux, analog sux. Emulators I used were okay, but with shitty controls, how good could it be?

RetroArch and most of the libretro cores are all ported to Android. Even has a Material Design UI now.

Standalone, Robert Broglias emulators are good (NES.Emu, MD.emu, SNES9x Ex, etc.)

That being said, only a handful of games are fun to play with touch controls and carrying around a bluetooth controller is an asspain.

I like those ones made by fast emulator or something. My boy and my old boy.

They have nice filters and looks almost exactly like playing from a DS screen. Many other options and the best thing IMO is that it has an almost perfect link cable function. You can play/battle/trade with other devices or even with yourself. I have yet to see an android or windows emulator capable of that. A couple of weeks ago I was replaying Pokemon Yellow and traded a couple of mons to Pokemon Crystal without any issue.

Drastic DS for sure. Runs all DS games on full speed even on shitty phones. Miles ahead even the PC emulators.

>PSP D-pad sux
>PSP Analog sux

REEEEEEE

No, the problem with the PSP is that the system is too slow for good SNES/MD/GBA, too low resolution to properly scale 8:7 -> 4:3 stuff , and doesn't have quite enough vertical resolution to scale GB/GBC games correctly.

The original models are also too big to fit comfortably in the pocket of anything besides the most autistic of cargo pants. All models except the Go also have different issues with the screens that detract from the experience. Even the Go doesn't handle scrolling 2d backgrounds too well, compared to a modern hi-res LCD (or good CRT).

The PSP Go has top notch clicky dome buttons like the GBA SP, if you don't like the d-pad and buttons of the original.

They're the best choice available for PS1, a decent choice for NES, and everything else you're better off with a hacked n3ds (except if you're getting in now, they plugged the downgrade hole lel)

Is it comfortable to play? It looks kinda bulky.

I'll be honest here, the PSP DPad feels great, but the analog does suck. It makes it difficult to play fighting games or any other that requires precise controls. The moves just don't come out well. The PS Vita was a truly upgrade in this regard, however.

It's my favorite portable analog stick, and anything you're referring to sound like NOT RETRO REEEEEEE

Is Eagle Eye just a meme skill made by devs? They really wanted something that would made gameplay more frustrating?

But really it just isn't fit for games that require precise controls. I'm not sure what you mean by "sound like NOT RETRO REEEEEEE".

Just use RetroArch

I own one and it's very comfortable to play with it. Majority of the emulator on Android work well on it and play most game without any issue. Even better if you like to play Fps game as the controller make it easier to play. Just wish the Android OS can update but at least Nvidia update the security patch on it. Very hard to get and get pricey in the 2nd hand market.

Gave this a go on a pretty new phone but got about 15fps on Pokémon Heart Gold with all filters off etc. Bummer.

I think a better question is what good controllers are there for Android phones?

I would use my PS3 controller on this note 4 but there's no root (thanks at&t) so I can't. Need to use some shitty generic Bluetooth thing instead

The emulation general is a shitheap. All anyone does there is shill their poorly optimized frontend and fling shit at any emulator that isn't supported by it.

Where can I fine one of these? They seem to be sold out everywhere.

>> No.3413279

By far the best Android tablet is the Nvidia Shield K1. Great speakers, great support from NVidia, streaming triple A PC games if you want, runs all actual Android games effortlessly, stylus support is great for touchscreen versions of Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate.

I found My Boy! to be a great GBA emulator, FPSE to be a great PS1 emulator, DraStic to be a *phenomenal* DS emulator, and PPSSPP to be a great PSP emulator. MD.emu is perfect Genesis emulation. Haven't bothered emulating SNES yet; Yabause is going to be my next experiment.

I just plug in a cheap imitation Saturn 6-button USB controller. And ,"it just works".
