10/10. my favorite Castlevania game. love everything about it. and the whip mechanics are just so fucking fun, it's really amazing what you can do with the whip once you completely master using it.

Back in '91, I never really adapted to the controls.

IMO the stiffnes of the controls suited first 3 games well. Gathering precisement of your skills to fight pretty basic enemies just felt right for me, always.

Dracula's Curse is still the definite Castlevania masterpiece.

9/10, 10/10 if I'm generous enough, its shortcomings are easily countered by its many good things.

That box artwork is incredible. Sick as shit. One of my all time favorite vidya covers, and one of the rare cases of the US/EU art being better than the japanese one (which isn't bad either, but not as great)
