I wouldn't call it "iconic as fuck" but it's good.
As far as RPG's go, I'd say FF4 wins. That or Vandal Hearts.

As for anything else, I've always loved the SNES intro of MegaMan X3. I'm still mad to this day that the X Collection version of X3 wasn't the SNES version.
Did the japs really prefer the arrangement, or was it just another case of Capcom being out of touch?

People love talking about how FF is more like a movie than a video game but FF1 really seem to take movie ideas into their games.

FF1 you talk to the king about rescuing the princess which back than felt more like it would be the whole game. But it really was only the first hour. Then once you hit the bridge you were treated to the credits like in a movie. With tons of action at the start then BOOM title screen.

Chrono Cross, I don't think I've ever been so enticed to play a game from the first time I saw it. It's literally orgasmic, the way it steadily builds up makes you feel so pumped, and then when it climaxes into the start screen with the calming music, it leaves you in afterglow. Just astonishing.
