I remember sitting in a dark basements for hours each day when I was a kid, always dying because Mario was so damn slidey. Eventually beat it after spending practically 2 weeks locked in basement. I was proud.

I got stuck at in world 8 big pit,so my cousin who was visiting and staying for a week would get me and every afternoon after lunch and some rest we would sit in front of the tv with this game.
He was also the one to tell me that you can have extra lives with the green mushrooms,places where you can find them and also locations of the magic beans.

yea i could never beat it when i was a dumb kid either, i had to savestate the fugg out of it with emulators until the end, then finally i was able to beat it on an actual system when i was in my 30's wow i must have been like a retard or something huh lmao :D

I beat it when I was a teen playing it on Animal Crossing. Tougher for me was Zelda 1, that took me a while. Both really fun games though.
