No.

You expect serious responses if you're not even willing to post a proper image?

If any game is linked by story, you should play them in order of release, or else you're a dumbass.

Also for me, SS is the superior game.

>> No.3341184

>>3341015

Since System Shock 2 was originally conceived as a completely different game, I doubt you'd ruin the experience by playing ss2 first.

>> No.3341467

SS1 is the better game by far so play 2 first and get that out of the way.

>> No.3341491

You should play both of them, but it really doesn't matter what order you play them in.

So where should I download the System Shock games? Piratebay?

Only play SS and Deus Ex.

Start with SS2.

SS1 is just clunky and odd, more of an interesting oddity. It might put you off playing the second one, but worth checking out if you enjoy playing SS2

>> No.3345079

>>3345051
Did you start with SS2? I've noticed a general trend that whichever SS game you play first tends to ruin the other one for you. I played SS1 first around a year ago and now consider it one of the best games of all time, and when I played SS2 it was a massive disappointment in almost every aspect. The RPG elements just got in the way, implants sucked, hacking was butchered beyond belief, weapons were ineffective and unsatisfying, the plot was entirely predictable, SHODAN's characterization was trashed, and you never had to figure anything out for yourself. I didn't totally hate it, but coming from SS1 it was a huge letdown.

>> No.3345101

>>3345051
I played it for the first time recently and it isn't that bad, just takes a bit of getting used too. Seems like a fun game

>Should I play System Shock 1 before playing System Shock 2?
Not really, the two are very different games connected only by the only character in the system shock series (SHODAN obviously). Fun fact: system shock 2 wasn't a sequel to system shock for most of its development.

>> No.3345471

>>3345079
Not him but I played 2 first and when I went to 1, found it to be the same experience but less focused on RPG elements and being a horror game. Seems like the same game, only centered on fps gameplay that doesn't seem that interesting and better level design. I avoided it because I didn't like the 2nd as much

>> No.3345689

Psi powers alone are what make shock 2 vastly superior, so it makes sense to use nothing but psi. Bioshock tried something similar but all the impact was lost by actually having to have a ballanced game and also "games for your mum" difficulty.
