Recent purchases thread? Pic related, the results of my trip to the used book store yesterday.

I've been looking for a copy of Arkanoid Doh it Again for nearly 15 years. I'm stoked to have finally snagged one.

I just bought my first retro console (NES). A friend of mine was selling it and I couldn't resist.

I don't have any games or even tv yet and I don't know where I should buy them (I live in central Finland) or where I even fit it in my small student apartment.

I'm stressed but happy.

Finnpoor here mongolbrethren, its HIGHLY unlikely you do to find any cheap retrogames from flee markets or anywhere nowadays, theres shitton of resellers who scavenge them through and charge ridicilous prices, but i recommend modding the console for ntsc and using ebay for much cheaper prices than within finland

Responded to an ad for a Coleco Gemini plus driving and keyboard controllers and 35 games for $60. Guy was apparently moving soon so he also gave me the Gameboy, and PS2 games (THATS NOT RETRO) in the pic (from his ad.) Not my pic, but I just got in my HDretrovision cables for SNES and Genesis.

I was previously running my SNES via s-video, so the jump in quality is barely noticeable, at best.

However, those Genesis cables....holy shit! I'm using them with my JVC X'Eye and 27" Trinitron and the difference in picture quality is night and day. Well composite -> to component so no shit, right?

I might sell my SNES cables cause fools are buying them for $100 on Ebay, lol.

The SNES was meant to run in component (RGB was on another chip, it was removed in the final build) as before they they decided to cheap out the SNES was meant to do Hi-Muse 1080i (through a special video port that later became the stander Nintendo AV port, RCA audio, composite & s-video were on stander jacks like the US NES with it's AV ports).

Keep the cables and use a modded SNES mini, you will thank me later.
