it has its pros and cons. Art style was genius though. Even during cutscenes and still the characters retain a low poly and hardly textured or untextured look. As a result, gameplay and story mesh exceptionally well

You ever notice that convoy and Everett kinda look alike ?

But yah I saw a let's play of the game and it blew me away, sure it's like you said about the lack of texturing and polygons but it's the gameplay that matters right ?
It was a shame that they didn't port this to consoles instead of just being PC only ( i assume that the processing power of the consoles vs pc is different so correct me if I'm wrong )
Although we did get vigilante 8 which wasn't bad & both games had a good sound track.
I have to admit I was excited when I heard they were doing a re release of vigilante 8 but that turned to disappointment when I learned that it was 360 only .
Anyways enough of my griping, the game is on my list to play.

sure, but in between were at least two NASCAR and two indycar games. Yet Indy 500 and GPL are the top of the top. It's not just who made them, but what they are. It does give me happy thoughts though to think of GPL as a really souped up Indy 500

Yeah like I said, they're a race of tiny little humanoids who I assume are either descended from fairies or they're a race of tiny ayy lmaos that happen to look very human like

But I prefer the fairies/elves theory because I like the idea that they would develop their own technology at the same pace we did, but use it to hide where we would never think to look

The plot is that the tiny people have fled Earth to an alien world with no humans. But it's volcanically unstable. So they must gradually gather resources needed to build a new starship and find a new home.

There are live action cutscenes now, it's really weird. Otherwise plays the same, you still collect thorium, there's a day/night cycle, the fish are still huge compared to you, etc.

not /vr/-retro, but is it reasonably feasible to run AD, Aquanox 1 and 2 nowadays? I got the last two long after release, and it took even longer until I had a GPU to play them. Unfortunately now I don't have these old computers any longer. They seem to be from that unfortunate period, that's too old to play directly, and too "new" to emulate/vm

>> No.3315845

>>3315842

the Aquanox games still run fine and can be had on Steam for cheap. Dunno about AD. Maybe an unpopular opinion but imo Aquanox 2 was the better of the 2 titles in that series. It's tiresomely grimdark but it brings back a lot of gameplay features from AD that were left out of the first Aquanox.
