I tried searching the net but it seems that no one has this problem .
I have a PS2 slim and PS2 and PS1 games work fine except that ONLY PS1 games don't have sound .This seems to be a CRT TV issue because PS1 games had sound on a LCD .What is also weird is that all the games i have are NTSC ,and NTSC PS2 games have sound while NTSC PS1 don't so its not a region issue .

The tv in question is pic related

Stereo or mono on the tv?
Check your sound settings on your ps2 and compare them to the sound settings on the psx games.

This is absolutely insane ,i tried it on a different CRT and the sound for ps1 works ,so it seems that this tv somehow knows when ps1 games are played and only then shuts off the sound .
Also it always has sound on the startup ps1 screen and loses it afterwards .

It doesn't like 240p. Try turning on post-processing.

it seems that this tv doesn't have an option for turning on or off post-processing

>> No.3311702

well i guess this tv doesn't like older than ps2 audio signals(somehow?) or something
my other 10+ years older crts work fine ...

>> No.3311705

Have you tried any other system with a 240p signal?

No, turn on post-processing in the PS2 it'll "smooth" the 240p games into 480i.

>>3311713
i turned the "texture mapping" option to smooth
still doesn't work

I'm curious as to what it does with the PS2 CD-ROM games, i.e. the blue-backed discs. Does the sound work with them? I have a controller that works fine with most games, but freaks out if you try to play a blue-back disc.
