For those systems that actually had used (or are) a 3D peripheral like the Master System, Vectrex and the Virtual Boy, how good were they compared to each other? Was there any effect to be noticed?

It's pretty good but shutter glasses reduce frame rate by 50%

Which is why you use 120hz, giving 60hz for each eye.

Show me a /vr/ console which outputs 120hz...

Come on, I'm waiting...

You simply said "shutter glasses", nothing about limiting them to console shit. High refresh rates are used when using shutter glasses on PC.

/vr/ exists outside of consoles you know? Just look at these 3D shutter glasses released for PC in 98.

OP said system, not console. PC counts.

Vectrex?

OP here, I meant to say consoles and handhelds.

Real OP here, this guy is lying. Any retro system is fine.

I remember the Sega 3-D Glasses emulating playing games with sunglasses on very well.

>> No.3290208

I only have experience with the Sega 3D glasses. Kind of, since I'm actually using Asus shutter glasses instead of the Sega ones but the result is exactly the same.

It's pretty good, depending on the game. Flickering is still very noticeable. Missile Defense 3D is actually quite fun to play, especially since the Light Phaser is very accurate as well (as opposed to say the Zapper). Outrun and Space Harrier aren't that interesting as they both run slow and with garbled graphics.

Can you explain a little more about your setup? Are you using the asus glasses with emulation or hardware? On crt or lcd?

I really want to try the master system 3d titles but all I have is emulation or megadrive/everdrive.

Hes probably using the Asus glasses with real hardware, not emulation.

The Vectrex 3D Imager is the highest quality out of all of them.

Doesn't have to be, I tried the 3DS a few years ago and didn't really noticed much.

Exaggerated 3D effects tend to be the most hard on your eyes, so they probably have it set pretty low. On PC 3D setups the separation/convergence can be set manually, so you can have as much exaggerated effects as you want.

You didn't really "noticed" much because your mom dropped you on your head underage.
