However will I electrocute that guy that's on the other side of the screen?

If only I had some kind of EXTENDING ROBOT ARMS

You know, I'd legit like to find out the backstory to Zan (it was Zan, right?) He is so different and out of place compared to the other characters. I mean an old, bald, cybernetic, electricty... cyborg? How did the devs ever manage to come up with that in the first place?

Bass is objectively better in that game.

Only a few very situational instances come about where mega man is better.

It's probably the most challenging in the series.

The graphics and music though...eh.

Overall I think it is the best of the post-NES classic series (so better than 7 or 8, basically), and probably better than 5 and 6.

Even if it was a screenshot of the GBA version it'd be retro. Discussion of ports and remakes of retro games are allowed.

Yes, but that's only true if you play as Mega Man.
Bass is easy mode.

Ports are allowed, remakes are not. FF1's GBA and PSP versions are ports (ableit enhanced ports), Tomb Raider Anniversary is a remake.

No dude. No.
There's been plenty of discussion of remakes in the past. Look at any Metroid thread or Dragon Quest thread, for example. You'll find people discussing Zero Mission (a remake of the first Metroid game) or the DS remakes of Dragon Quest IV, V, and VI.
I've seen discussion of the DS version of Final Fantasy III and IV. And so on and so forth.

Shit sucked. Especially if it locked you into a bad end

He fits well enough, that game is all about cyborg doubles, evil brains in jars, and stuff like that

I missed good old Max though (he was the most fun to play, the only downside being his lame-ass design); Zan just doesn't feel -in appearance at least- like a "heavy".

Mate, you've got issues. Head issues.
The only game that I mentioned that actually IS a port is Dragon Quest IV, which is a port of the PSX version, which itself was a remake.
Every single other game is a remake.
You want enhanced ports, look no further than Super Mario All-Stars.

It's based on 1e/2e D&D where wizard was called Magic User. Later on it kinda split into wizard ( learned magic-user ) and sorcerer ( natural, spontaneous magic-user ).

My favorite part about character selection in Megaman & Bass is that when you do choose one, you get a series of pictures showing you what each character can do. Bass' pictures show the dash, the double jump, and the multidirection shooting. Megaman has the slide, the charge shots, and then... the third picture is just him with a derpy face and a thumbs up, like saying "yup, that's all I can do! We're getting fucked by King lol".

He truly does suck compared to Bass in this game except for very few, isolated cases, and most of these have to do with getting the data discs anyway.

>>3285741
It is very good and very challenging at several spots as well (the last stages are pretty much a nightmare). It has a game-long sidequest that's a huge love letter to the classic franchise, which is neat too. I think it's really fun and kind of underrated.

Yes, the data discs were a neat concept, and gave the player extra incentive to play through the game with both characters. They included every single classic character, even the Genesis and Game Boy-exclusive bosses.

The data disc concept was taken further in the Zero and ZX series, where you can find data disks of common enemies, friendly NPC's, etc.

Oh, I geeked out for a second there and forgot to explain my pic.

Sypha Belnades from Castlevania 3. She's a glass-cannon mage with some self esteem issues, but Trevor really helps her find herself. It's a heartwarming story.

Her flame spell is my bread and butter. She absolutely shreds most bosses. I never tried fighting Dracula with her though; it doesn't really feel right. That's Trevor's honor, you know?

Bass always way too weird to me, the weak shots felt off after years of either the regular shots or the charge shot, the double jump is nice though if a bit too forgiving. I've only completed MM&B as Bass once, my other three times I went Mega Man who just felt much better to play for me. Its weird to me how many people I see say they preffer Bass.
>>3286710
Well Maria was basically easy mode, her taking double the damage Ricther takes but really she just is easy mode. Every so often I actually doing a playthrough with Maria, typically though Ricther is my choice as the game really isn't designed for Maria.

I did a Maria run before doing my Ritcher run.
Marias fun if it's 4am and I don't feel like actually thinking while I play. But with Ritcher you have to actually plan shit out a bit more.

His rapid fire more than makes up for it, though. With either the power up accesory or the shots-through-walls accesory he's basically invincible.
