$65 a couple of weeks ago for pic related. I still feel like I over paid. Only thing retro I've gotten since then is Lords of Lore and Abomination big box PC games both complete for $2 each.

Ebay says the games are $150 total, but given the lack of demand for Atari 2600 stuff the real value of the games is probably around $40. Throwing in the controllers and console, I'd say you did alright/got slightly ripped off.

I picked up two official 3-button Genesis controllers in good cosmetic shape that were "non-functional" for $1. One has somewhat shiny plastic and says "Made in Taiwan" on the back, the other has a flatter plastic and says "Made in China" on the back. Took them home, opened them up. The Taiwanese controller had gunk on the contacts, but otherwise appears to be in good shape. After cleaning, I think it might work. The Chinese controller had gunk on the contacts as well, but it also had corrosion under the gunk. Not in a small spot here and there either, the entire contact is corroded and probably non-functional. I plan on pulling the 74 chip and the cord off the PCB, and keeping the case and buttons since they are pretty much flawless. In the end I got nearly new looking and fully functional official 3-button controller for $1 along with replacement parts.

I love the fact that there is barely any demand for Sega hardware outside of the Dreamcast(and Saturn controllers). With some soldering and repair knowledge, you can get all kinds of cheap gear.

3251090 here, I'm not complaining. Means I can still get decent games for cheap for the 2600. It's one of the 5 consoles that don't have a huge e-celeb following crowd that sold pretty well.

2600, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear, and PSX. All five have cheap consoles, controllers and cables, and games. Hell, you can get one plus controllers and cables plus an everdrive/harmony/modchip for less than $150. Compared to trying to get into TurboGraphix or Jaguar or Neo Geo, that's pretty damn cheap.

imo the super famicom is the better buy, looks better too. you'd probably have to get a passthrough/game genie cart or take the top off to play USA region games. i think i got mine for like... 10 dollars? it was years ago though.

lately i haven't been buying much but i did grab a ps2 for 5 and an n64 for 5 a couple weeks ago. heading to some guy's house to check out a bunch of stuff too, might have some game and watch stuff and i've always found that early nintendo shit fascinating. if i can get it for a good price i'll probably hold onto it, the only game and watch i have is popeye and the screen is warped.
