>rack up dozens of lives, points, coins etc.
>get to a save spot, turn off game
>start back up again with 3 lives

I'd love for life count to carry over. There would be times where I have to waste 15 minutes just to run around old levels to pick up extra lives so I wasn't stuck with 3 and die. S3&K finally did that at least
