Where do you find friends that are into Retro vidya?

Is it just luck?

People usually grow out of the hobby by age 12.

The 90s want their memes back. My 50 year old brother-in-law started playing Battlefield 4 this year. Gaming is a normie approved activity nowadays.

Nigga, Asheville has nothing like that.

If you say so, anon. These days literally no one gives a shit as long as you do other things too.

I'd just like a friend thats interested, maybe invite him over to play Goof Troop or Contra or something, smoke a bowl, you know, the usual shit friends do.

Anyone who's over 25 who's into videogames. It's not that hard.

I'm 24 and have friends into games, but they write off retro stuff due to sound and graphics.

They play shit like League of Legends, WoW, Asscreed, and Uncharted 4, and my attempts to get them to find an appreciation for this stuff haven't gone well.

You should spend less time trying to fit in on 4chan and more with your friends.

If you're from a big country you could just check on onine communities for people around your area.
Honestly, retro gaming is so popular nowadays that it may not be difficult to find some teenagers interested in it. That is, if you don't mind "teenage behaviour" (and if you're really that desperate).

I'm not here much. We do hang but its usually to do outdoorsy shit or the random times they're feeling Mario Kart or something like that.

I think you're doing that thing that you chuckleheads tend to do where you make an assumption and it doesn't quite pan out.

>>3228142

>teenage behaviour

Eh, I don't think I'm that needy. Ah well. I've looked into online communities. Seems dry and the people that ARE there just want to spend time at home by themselves or within their already pre-established clique. No one seems interested in meeting new people. I'll keep fishing, though.

Steam has a few /vr/ groups. Pick an person with an avatar that interests you that has a profile you like and make a friend.

You don't have to make a group post or anything, just browse profiles.

Chill, dude. It's about to be a federally regulated recreational privilege of being an American citizen.

Go to a retro gaming store in your local area. It could be hard or impossible if you don't have a car. Just try to find the nearest one. Talk to the owners. They're typically really cool and they care about their customers. There are also places that do business with most retro gaming shops for a reason, so try to find out what places associate with that gaming shop, and if they have any events planned up. For instance just ask "whats a cool place around here where other nerds like us hang out" or something like that, should get you some new friends or a new chill spot. I went to a local shop near where I live in Clearwater, Florida like two years ago. After that I found several shops like it around the city. I also found a retro arcade joint two cities over, just by going to that one shop and talking to the owner.

Facebook gaming groups and nostalgia groups are also pretty common, and there's always discussion related to retro vidya there.

I have friends who I played these games with when they came out and they're always up for some nostalgia. And by now most of us have kids and some of them are into old stuff. And they have friends who are. I guess just lucky I've always played a lot.
