It must have been so easy to get a license back in the day for developers. As a modern developer, everyone is so stitchy with who they give their IP to these days. Small devs use to use these licenses to build a portfolio and cred, but now, we have to shoot for the stars and hope one of our games makes a hit. But as the story goes, most of the time, this doesn't end up happening for most small devs.

Funny example to use. That game was pretty bad, where as Injustice Gods Among Us was a huge hit and fantastic game. Also currently one of DC's best selling ongoing comic series.

It's NRS's best game to date in my opinion. Even if you don't think it can compete with the SF, KoFs and GG's (which I would disagree with) it's worlds better than Justice League Task Force was. I have spent some serious time with that game. It's fun, but not an actual good fighter.

It can't, it had to buy its entry into EVO. Nobody wanted it there.

What would you say is NRS's best game? The only one objectively that competes is MKX. Of course it's not all that popular, even popular NRS fighters are ignored by most hardcore players. But I've been playing these games for decades and honestly think Injustice is a fantastically designed game. You don't have to agree, many don't. But I like it and it still has tons of people online so that's all I care about.

Anyways the point is, it's a much better use of the license than JLTC was.

Didn't Sunsoft get the DC license back in the NES days and kept it until Playstation era? Doesn't sound to me all that different from how people handle it nowadays.

Why so? I almost exclusively play online.

Superman is a crazy hard character to put in a game since he's so powerful. I too would like to see a really good game designed around a set of powers like that, but it would have to be unconventional. And that's really hard to do well.
