Yes. One of the best puzzle platformers. The first game I played on an IBM PC.

I wish there were more games that used same mechanics (switch between chars to solve puzzles, all chars exist at the same time). the only good one I remember was Project Eden.

2nd part looks best on PSOne and PC.

Is that any better? I could use Zsnes or Dosbox...

The Gobliiins games are somewhat similar to the 1-player-3-characters side of it, but I like the simpler, standarized platformer gameplay of TLV better.

I can't believe Blizzard hasn't got it rebooted as a casual/indie-ish game yet, or that there are so few games that use a similar concept for that matter; it's so much fun

I'm pretty sure I had a copy of this, but I must have misplaced it during a move.

I think Blizzard released it as a freebie a while ago?

I played Gobliins, I meant puzzle platformers/action with several chars.

Lost Vikings 1 is about same on every platform, best versions are on PC and SNES, PC being a tad better because of resolution and controls. Genesis has a bit fucked palette.

LV2 on Genesis and SNES use engine of the first with different tiles, and have unmemorable music. PC and PSOne use pre-rendered 3D assets that actually look pretty great and have fantastic (and a bit trippy at times) music. Also shitty mid 90's FMVs, while Genesis and Snes have in-engine cutscenes. Level layouts are the same on all versions.

Heads up, usual caveats of the Genesis versions aside, it does contain a couple of extra levels (one per scenario I think?)

It does. It's pretty nice to play with the 6 button as well.

There is an Amiga version which is also good. No bad ports of this game AFAIK.

You might like The Humans. You have to use your tribe of humans to work together and get to the end of the level. A lot of really well designed puzzles.

I really enjoyed this game when i was a kid. It's quite a slow game, and it requires you to think and plan ahead, that playstyle really appealed to me. However it gets brutally hard towards the later stages, you have to have a perfect plan because there is a time limit, and if you lose just 1 guy you may be done for. I played it on the Atari Jaguar though, the port is called "Dino Dudes". A much more interesting name than "The Humans" imo.

I never played the Jaguar version so I don't know how different it is, but yeah the game gets quite tough in later levels and took me a good long time to beat my first time. Part of what I like about it so much.

Never played it desu, just remember it from game mags from yesteryear. Have gotten stuck in Quadrax tho

Zelda triforce heroes (for Nintendo 3ds) is similar in that 3 heroes need to work together with different items to solve puzzles.

Are the extra levels on the genesis version worth it or should I play the SNES version like I did years ago?

>> No.3154887

>>3154876
Well, they're just... new levels: same elements as the others in the block, but different layout. They don't feel weird or out of place or anything, if that's what you're asking

>> No.3154897

>>3154887
Is the genesis version worth playing over the super nintendo version is what I'm asking.

>> No.3154924

I remember hating the game since you could put a character in a place that you thought was safe, only for them to die while you're trying to do something as another character.

I also hated it because one slight mistake meant you completely fucked yourself out of being able to complete the level.

>> No.3155010

It was cool back then, though I was never fond of this art style.

>> No.3155563

>>3154924
That really annoyed me too. Although if the levels were designed so they couldn't be incompletable then it would really limit the puzzles creatively. It might be nice if there were mid-level checkpoints or something.

yes, the people who say it looks worse are actually retarded.
