What old videogames do you consider to be overrated or to have aged poorly, /vr/?

12th time this exact OP has been posted this year. Remember to report for spam folks.

The word overrated is overrated.

Now how about, "Games you couldn't quite get into general"?

Mine is Shadowrun. I tried it on the SNES and the pointer movement was just too slow for me.

Try out the Genesis SR, it doesn't have a silly cursor and the hacking bits are much better.

These threads have to break a rule, any rule.

Also, Final Fantasy 7. I love the setting and the characters, but each random encounter saps my will to play it. I get hyped to see what happens next while dreading the idea of actually playing through it.

Yeah, Mr. Overly Wordy Autist, we have a word for that: Overrated.

Not necessarily, just because you can't get into it doesn't mean the game sucks.

you can manipulate the step count so that random encounters rarely occur and are predictable when they do. the encounters aren't actually random.

if that seems like too much work, you can always just run from random battles. there are ways to beat every single boss even while underleveled.

Obviously it isn't.

you can learn how to manipulate the step count so that random encounters rarely occur and are predictable when they do. the encounters aren't actually random and are predetermined based on the area and the number of total steps you've taken. if that seems like too much work, you can always just run from random battles. there are ways to beat every single boss even while underleveled.

see, i'm the opposite of you. i can't handle the annoying story text dumps when i play and instead just want to grind and battle and autistically complete things. so now so i use joy2key in tandem with the steam version, which allows me to set up a turbo button for easy text skipping.

With each new one, OP's failure becomes more apparent. Truly action without thought behind it.
