Electromechanical arcades thread?
I think these are the most endangered type of arcades to be forgotten and lost. Their elements rot physically and it's hard to think anyone would bother with renewing.
Will we ever see simulators of these arcades which not only replicate the gameplay but replicate the principles of work too?

The big arcade at Cedar Point has a number of electromechanical games in the back in general disrepair I'm always afraid that I'm going to go and they're going to be gone.

Midway's Haunted House is my favorite and it mainly just seems to be the coin mechanism that's faulty on it. Generally I can bring an attendant back and she'll put a few dozen credits on it for me just because I'm asking to play it.

i've got a fairly cool daiichi entirely mechanical (save for some lights) pachinko machine sitting around. works alright, although i'm not sure if the payout system works because i don't know a thing about pachinko.

i don't think i've even seen many of these things, save for a few armwrestling/punching bag machines. might be digital too.

I have two pachinko machines one late 90s one and one early 80s one if not older. I got the older one at a yard sale for $5 but I haven't ever given it juice. Its power cords were cut and the guy was using it purely as a decoration.

FYI pachinko machines pay out in balls. Fill up the top bin on the back and if balls come out the front bottom when you hit targets, it's paying out.

I've visited this place. It's fucking mint and Tim Hunkin is a bona fide genius. I'd highly recommend checking out his late 80s TV series The Secret Life of Machines on Jewtube if you're into this kind of thing.
