1. Input lag. Doubt this is a huge issue for the NES though.
2. Bragging rights/looking cool/whatever. If you like having a NES near your TV as a prop you might as well plug it in.

Honestly you can say this about any console except for the ones that don't emulate well like the N64 or the Saturn.
