Who has played this amazing gem of a game? It's one of the few retro games I still enjoy today. It also has an amazing kickass soundtrack, and I mean kickass. It's so good they released it as a CD.

Yeah it's great. More fun with real people because the computer is stupid, but where are you going to find 3 people who want to sit and play MoM for 5 hours?

That fire dragon becomes king dragon if you let it get enough xp. I think the crasher becomes a titan too. The only two monsters in the game that can get level 4.

I really grew to like this game and the OST, even though I've never, not once, beaten the CPU, at anything.

CAMP-1? Nope. Fighting 1 AI with all my magic turned up? Nope.

I'm shit at strategy games but MoM is neato as heck.

CPU can be hard to beat especially since it gets monsters you can't summon. The strategy is to milk every map for XP. You need those higher level monsters. Great Angels are the best for killing masters too so don't neglect them.

The game is 25 years old and it's not my screenshot. 1991 Sega Genesis wasn't known for fantastic graphics. Nothing short of arcade machines were.

Brigandine is like this game if this game were simply better in every conceivable way, which is mostly what renders MoM unplayable to me

But make sure you play Dryst because his music is the best and his dialogue is hilarious

I know it as Warsong and I've played the crap out of it (this IS my screenshot).

It has good music too but IMO not a good as MoM.

Yeah there was a PS1 Master Of Monsters with gameplay that resembled this one but was inferior. You could "merge" monsters together to create new ones but the combat is worse - the attacker makes all of it's attacks first and if the defender dies there's no counterattack. At least in the Genesis MoM monsters take turns making attacks.

It's a fun game but not compared to this one
