It should go without saying but non-arcade releases are allowed.

>> No.3092656

>>3092650
I'd note that the Arrangement games aren't the same versions as the originals released in the 90s.

>> No.3092679

>>3092650
Oh, most of those are pretty good, i like king and balloon more than i should, also xevious, grobda, motos, pac and pal, and sky kid are pretty fun. I mean you cant go wrong with the usual popular namco games either like pac man or galaga but i feel that some games deserve more attention. If you do want to play toypop or bravoman btw, both are pretty easy to emulate in mame.

>toypop

My nigga. I know some of Namco's obscure titles like Druaga have a cult following in the west, but ToyPop is never mentioned. It's a great little game and was one of my favorites in the first Namco Museum title.

>> No.3093040

>>3092556
Yeah, I heard it was developed in the same time as Famicom, but after Famicom was released they dropped their plans.

>> No.3093081

>>3089885

That game's fuckin hard, man. Wait about four or five rounds and you find yourself struggling to outrun enemies, let alone have the right weapon to kill them. It's especially a pain in the ass because you can't edge, you move entire blocks at a time and you're locked into that movement.

>>3092650

Looking at this list, I'll make a few comments. Bosconian is unusually fun to play, even by Namco high standards the sound design is excellent. Dragon Buster's total bullshit, I never figured out how to go more than four or five rounds in it. Grobda's very addictive, but you have to really know how to observe multiple projectiles at once. It's not like most shooters, so the patterns can really catch you off-guard. Motos is SUPER bullshit, you have to use your power-ups to get through some rounds, which is understandable, but by round 9 or so I'm stumped. Compared to other titles, Rolling Thunder has a lot less replay value and the gameplay is really shallow, so it doesn't hold up. Tower of Druaga is a nightmare, I can't imagine how anyone beat that game back then, especially since the chests don't appear and you have to do really specific things to trigger some of them. You are fucked if you don't get that candle.

I still prefer the PS1 ones. It's not the same without a comfy low poly museum to walk through

I know its hard, but i really like the weapons system and the music is nice. Its a really unique game and its becoming one of my favorite namco games. Its a shame its so obscure.

>> No.3093564

I really miss the Namco Museum of the PS1 days. It was an actual museum that you could walk around in.

Nowadays, every Namco Museum title is just a collection of games with no real extra content to speak of.

>> No.3093573

>>3093564
I agree, plus its always just the same games, on the ps1 they at least included some obscure ones like toypop or metro-cross. I always thought it would be cool if namco released a "hidden gems" collection or something like that and had titles like toypop, metro-cross, king&balloon, bravoman, or even something like wagyan land.
