Is this getting out of hand or no?

The point is newbie profiteers desperately trying to make money off of a fad. They don't know what the fuck they're doing so they try to squeeze out a few more pennies by having things graded and slabbed. Fad collectors don't know any better so they buy into shit like this because they think that people actually care about some self-proclaimed authority assigning a number to things.

This guy has over 500+ games sealed like this.
I understand doing a mint sealed lil' Samson up like this, but dime a dozen sports games that weren't worth buying back then?

Just watch this and be properly educated on the VGA.

Does anyone know of a place that sells protective cases like those?

The "retro game collecting" thing is a huge fad. It's why it's all like 90s era video games and no one gives a shit about the 70s/80s games. Because all the little dumbass kids who grew up are now freaking out about rebuying their childhood shit just to say they have it.

the VGA cases are beyond protection. They're tombs.

I meant ones you can open and close, not permanently sealed cases.
Like how the stores have dvd and cd security cases.

I understand slabbing especially rare and pristine comic books (hopefully after reading them once), but not games. You only really need like 20 minutes to thoroughly enjoy a comic and never really need to read it again, but games are meant to be played a while and produce a different experience.
