Thats the fucking problem. It's not different enough. They could've made a way more interesting combat, and progression system but they literally played it safe and copied it from Souls. That is seriously my biggest complaint about Bloodborne. They made all these changes to make it faster paced, but they kept it the same, so it's meaningless.

Name some good, mandatory bosses in BB?

Heres a list:

>Gascoigne
>Vicar
>3 Stooges
>Rom
>One Reborn
>Micolash
>Wet Nurse

They're all shit except for Gascoigne and maybe Vicar/Wet Nurse.

Bloodborne had a lot better area design than Dark Souls 2 and was more like Dark Souls 1 in that regard with the opening shortcuts instaed of having a dozen bonfires, but it did a bunch of really dumb shit as well.

When theres really nothing else to find then yeah, it's worthless. Bend over backwards to find what? A fucking healing vial? It's just not worth it most of the time, and even if you do find something cool, chances are pretty damn high its worthless to your build anyways.

If we're talking just mandatory shit, take a look at the bosses. You can skip Armored Spider using a glitch, and cheese out 2 or 3 other bosses, but Demon's Souls is definitely longer than Bloodborne.

Dlc was way over priced. I find it incredibly hard to believe it was "2 DLC's combined into one" when really the only way I can imagine that working is if they just severely gutted the fishing hamlet and tacked it on.

On first playthrough you have no idea what you'll find in the world, including where the levels will take you and items you can gain. Even the weapons themselves are still interesting to find. Then there's things like shards, gems, spells, etc. Saying 'no exploration value' is straight up retarded. Exploration value only exists when you're unfamiliar with the game in your early playthroughs. Once you know DaS and BB they both don't have any exploration value.

Why does everyone rave about BB's combat? It's just a slightly faster paced version of the other games and you can't block. Most of the weapons are just spamming R1.

If you want a game with a good combat system look at something like DMC, Bayonetta, or one of the other crazy games like Viewtiful Joe, MGR, or Ninja Gaiden.

Bloodborne's combat is nothing to write home about.

Yeah, you know what I found in my first playthrough of Bloodborne? Fucking nothing. I found a sawspear, and a cannon, like 5 armor sets and I just went where the game wanted me to go and the only optional bosses I fought were Paarl and Bloodstarved Beast.

I went back and replayed again and found everything and it's still disappointing.

The difference is that n Demon's or Dark Souls there was actually stuff to find. You had NPC's to unlock that benefitted you by giving you items or becoming teachers, you just don't fucking have that in Bloodborne. The people you find just go to Oeden Chapel or straight up just fuck off for the whole game (Like Gehrman).

You should, since you're saying you're exploring the world and and trying to get immersed in it, based on your other posts. To me, Yharnam is really fucking bland and uninteresting, it lacks the variety we've seen in previous games.

There are games that have beautiful worlds, like Castlevania Lords of Shadow has great art direction and design, that doesn't mean it's a good game.
