Dark Demon isn't actually that bad, you have a few different approaches.

You can use the Armor talisman and Ginseng Potions and try and win via attrition, or you can use the fang talisman and try to race him.

If you were going to do it without getting hit, then yeah, its hard, but with full ginseng it ain't so bad.
