In terms of making wrestlers? Un-fucking-believable for a 16-bit game, though not at the levels of a modern game. Coolest part is that you can set up the AI for each wrestler for when they're controlled by the CPU (this is optional, so you can skip it if you don't have the time or just don't care). You can do a lot with appearances and stat settings and skill attributes as well.

Beyond that you've got a fair amount of tweaking of the match rules, 4 refs to choose from, several different modes... Very deep game in general.

All this shit was straight up unprecedented when it first came out and arguably wasn't rivaled outside of the Fire Pro series until WWF No Mercy.

On the topic of wrestling games did you know that WWF No mercy was originally meant to have a game boy color port?

And it was to be compatible with the N64 version allowing you to copy your custom superstar from it to the N64 version and letting you play as him through a special championship route with him as the star.

But because the GBC port was scrapped this was all dummied out but can be reactivated with a simple gameshark code.

Now all you have to do is go to clone a super star and copy any superstar you want to the newly opened slot 512 in the now opened superstars 6 then go back to the main menu click on championship and you should notice the new route from there.

When the wrestlers make contact they automatically enter into a grapple. As soon as the palms of their hands touch each other's shoulders you enter the command for your move. Whoever is quickest to do this without being early will perform the move.

Y + d-pad/neutral = Weak Grapple Moves

A + d-pad/neutral = Strong Grapple Moves

You have to do a little damage to your opponent before medium grapple moves will work, and a little bit more than that before strong grapple moves will work.
