Favorite game will always be Skies of Arcadia. The first RPG that truly clicked with me.

This past weekend, I was hanging out with some friends. It was 1 AM, I was drunk, eating from a giant bowl of homemade popcorn, and discussing the difference between TV technologies/resolution with my friend while playing Skies of Arcadia for the umpteenth time. It was the happiest I've been in a long fucking time.

Actually, my other two best video game related memories are also Skies of Arcadia/food-based. One was Summer of '04, it was hot as fuck, I was playing through the Gamecube version, and my dad came home with Coney Island hot dogs and root beer. The other was the very first time I played the game, a friend loaned it to me in the Spring of '01. Same day I was making my shitty catholic confirmation, so I had to leave in the middle of the first boss battle. Came back home, went up to my room with a box of donuts and ignored all my family members downstairs. Stayed up playing until 2 AM. Fuckin' awesome.

The VGA box has 2 output ports; a standard VGA port and an audio out port. You'd need to buy a male-to-male audio cable.

>>3036569
>Should I get one of those VGA cables for Dreamcast?
Oh yes.
> Is it worth it, or should I attempt soldering my own VGA port for Dreamcast?
Hard to say. I bought mine years ago when they were cheap as shit. Now the retro game market has driven them up. Not sure what they go for.

Soldering your own is a viable strategy, for sure. The box isn't actually needed, it just basically exists as a switch between VGA and S-video and a port for the audio output. The DC will output RGB across a VGA cable as long as certain pins in the port are grounded. Should be relatively easy to find a schematic, I think. You'll just need to remember to splice in a pair of RCA audio jump-out cables.

Or, apparently, you could just buy this for 12 bucks:

Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Toy Commander work and are playable, but the videos... oh god. I also downloaded Mortal Kombat Gold and it has this weird thing going on where some hit sounds are replaced with announcements that are not supposed to be there. For example; I hit punch someone and instead of them screaming the announcer just yells RAIDEN or something. It's pretty funny, if only I could make a video capture.
Mortal Kombat 4 sucks ass by the way, I thought Gold meant it would have the original classic Mortal Kombat games which are way superior.

Oh and another thing: I have PAL dreamcast, so when I play NTSC games the picture is fucked up. No colors, lots of flickering going on etc. just unplayable.
But when I wiggle the scart adapter a little the picture will turn clear with full colors. I don't know how that is possible, it shouldn't do that. Pretty amazing though, apparently I don't need to care about the region codes then. I use plasma TV, but it's one of those older earlier plasma models so maybe it's capable of showing those higher frequencies with little wiggling.

Are there any good fps games for Dreamcast? I know it's pretty bad platform for first person shooting, consoles in general are, but I would like to get comfy and play some late 90s early 00s fps. I tried picture related and it's pretty fucking awful.
The control scheme is fucked; you move with color buttons and move the camera with the stick. Too bad the stick is on the left side and the XYAB buttons on the right so it's nothing like playing a modern console shootan. The game also plays kinda awful, it takes forever to aim, levels are boring, and the enemies just stand there and wait for you to shoot them.
