Anyone else here from Germany who remembers a Commander Keen rip-off that actually stole graphics and even story elements from the series, featured a fat lemming (from the Lemmings game series) as player character and had the Adam West Batman theme song as background music?
I think it was often found on some shareware CDs in the 90s.

Not quite /vr/, and possibly only tangentially related to the thread, but I like how Dr. Toadstool's store from Retro City Rampage looks like it came straight from a bootlegged game. The crude drawing, crude color assignment, and the Chinese letters take me back to those days. I wonder if this was an intentional homage, personally he missed an opportunity to call him Dr. Maruo (Super Maruo being one of the very first unlicensed Famicom games, from 1986) and by giving his store weird ass bootlegged music.

I have these two bootlegs for a Famiclone, and I play them on a steeringwheel shaped Famiclone. I also have a chinese version of Pokemon Crystal on a flurocent green cartridge, and the infamous crappy translation of Pokemon Green.

I've been trying to find Final Fight 3 for NES for fucking ages now because it actually has multiplayer and shit plus i kinda just want it out of pure curiosity.

Mighty Final Fight didn't do much for me honestly so I'd like something closer to the actual games which this bootleg is.

Rom hustler actually does have legit DLs, but they pull that "guess which link actually has the rom" thing.

When you first load the page there'll be a countdown in the middle of the page that leads to the real download. They're just banking on you not reading that and clicking on one of the fake download links instead.

Same thing happened to me too at first. I only use them when emuparadise doesn't have what I'm looking for though.

I wish I still had it, but my crazy grandma gave me a computer game about 10+ years ago that I have no idea where she got it from.

It was a big orange box with a mushroom cloud in the background and marching pickles with helmets and guns slung over their shoulders and it said "Pickle Wars" as the name.

The box was empty except for a single CD. It was a shiny silver color and said Pickle Wars DOS on it.

When I loaded it up, it was the shareware version of Doom 95...lol

Has anyone ever seen this bootleg? I've been searching around for it forever. I lost the box and game years and years ago.
