Just a reminder that if you any button besides A to make Sonic jump, you're doing it objectively wrong.

>> No.2905147

You are supposed to use the B button you dunce

>> No.2905163

only scrubs use anything but A

>> No.2905165

p.s. if you use a playstation controller when emulating and use anything but square you are also a faggot

ITT: Faggots who don't use the C Button

>> No.2905170

B or C are the best option, A sounds retarded, too far.

>> No.2905171

I use the C button.

>> No.2905174

I use C, as well.

>> No.2905175

In object placing mode, A cycles through the items, B returns to Sonic and C places the item (as in, it's actually doing something relevant to the game).

In control mode, A advances framestepping, B slows the game down at 30 fps, and C makes Sonic jump (again, another game-relevant action).

Now guess which was the button intended for jumping/everything worth a damn in this game.

back to /v/ with yo bitch ass
(everyone ever used c btw)

Pro tier: A
Idiot tier: B
I mean if you really want to hold the controller like that you can I guess tier: C

>> No.2905194

I've used C all my life but lately when I play sonic on Sonic Jam on Saturn I try to always use A, just because A is the button I've used least so I think it's nice to give it some love, the poor thing.

>> No.2905247

C is the only correct answer. Enable debug mode and C is the only button used for jump. It's what the developers intended.

>> No.2905258

>faggots who think B should be used for jump in NES games

>> No.2905278

I use B because then even if I miss the button, I have the best chance for hitting either A or C.

And for spindashing I swipe my fingers through all three buttons.

Both tricks only work on 3-button pads though!

miss the button? your thumb should always be on the button, retard

Why the fuck would anyone use anything other than C?

It's the most comfortable by far.

Always C for me.

>> No.2906078

No he's not that actually means he's the only other person in this thread besides me who is non scrub-tier at the game.

>not pressing all 3 at the same time to jump
Fucking casuals

>> No.2906084

>you have to hold down and press a button to spin dash
Why not just bind it to either of the other two buttons? C is jump. B is spin dash. A is ???. It's like they wanted to keep the controls as simple as possible. Were they afraid players would be literally too stupid to figure out how to jump unless all of the buttons did it? Did they have so little trust in their audience that they feared even a "press A to jump" tutorial would be over their heads?

>> No.2906093

>>2906084
Spindashing is a test of multi-finger button mashing ability. Binding it to a single button would remove that challenge.

>> No.2906359

>>2906093
Agreed. It is clearly the superior version and implementation of the old go fast mechanic. It's better than just holding B. More exciting to boot, and more interactive by default. Arguably button mashing also takes more skill. If only Mario's programmers hadn't been so inept, maybe they could have done what Sega did. If running in Mario had been a test of multi-finger button mashing ability and not single-finger button holding ability, the game would be objectively better.
