I'm playing Super Metroid on my SNES right now. The first time I played it was about six years ago on the VC, and I thought it was really overrated. For some reason I'm enjoying it a lot more this time around. I think I still like Prime better, but Super is great too.

Totally different. I haven't played the Genesis game yet but I've heard good things. From what I have seen, the Genesis game is a more traditional platformer with more focus on puzzle, the SNES game is weirder, as it's a platformer but you can move in different planes around the screen similar to beat 'em up games. The SNES game also uses the dash mechanic that was implemented on Tiny Toon Buster Busts Loose.

True Lies for the SNES has the rare distinction of being a movie license game published by LJN that's actually really good.

It's hard, but lots of fun.
Also available on the Genesis where it's the same, but different pallettes and sound effects. The gameplay, graphics and soundtrack is just as good as on the SNES and it comes down to what you prefer or what console you have (use the 6button pad if you're on Genny).

It's absolutely a fun action game, it follows the movie just as much as it has to, it's worth picking up on any system (well, not the GameGear version, that one wasn't good at all).

>I haven't played the Genesis game yet but I've heard good things
I owned it, still do, but haven't played it in probably 20 years. I remember liking it as a kid, but I recognize that was probably only due to the fact it was based on my favorite show. Graphics were good, and the game had a decent sense of humor, but it's probably rubbish. I should dig it out this weekend and give it a go.

Just pick up the games you feel would be fun to play.

Also, some console clones and emulator boxes inexplicably have issues running some games (that emulators on PC long since fixed), research that before making a decision.

Like, the Retron 5 (arguably a piece of shit), had problems playing Doom and other special chip games, for a long time too.

Unless you're serious about collecting, I'd suggest a flash cartridge for the more expensive and illusive titles, like, Earthbound is a great game, but do you really want to spend upwards of 200 smackers for it?

If it wasn't for the 32X version lacking lots more levels, the bosses and the music being awful, I would say it's fully superior, the SNES version just had way better music and actually had the cyber and spider.

Another very underrated racing would be Biker Mice From Mars. Forget about Rock'n'Roll Racing, in the isometric style, THIS is the best.
The game may seem simple at first you once you learn the turbo systems of Modo and Vinnie, especially Vinnie, you're going to love it. In that sense it's kinda like Crash Team Racing and its turbo system, except faster and requiring even more skill.

And of course The Ninja Warriors for best beat em up on the system. You've got 3 characters, all of each play differently and have TONS of moves and combos. Trust me you're not done learning all the moves.

Jump-kicking from enemy to enemy without touching the ground for most fun move.
