In this thread we try to find games we almost completely forgot about since they are so far back in the past.

I'm trying to find a game I played back when I was so young that I didn't even understand what I played. I think it was a point n' click adventure or something similiar and at some point in the game I entered a building, some garage or whatever and either found a robot there or something that somehow makes me think if a trash can when I think about it... it might even have been a living trash can.. or a trash can robot. The memory is so hazy that it might've even been a dream and there is no such game.

Let's also share the first games we ever played, maybe there'll be some accidental resdiscoveries that way.

This here is probably the first first-person-shooter I played. Used to scare me a fair bit.

"Aliens Of Gold" was the only Wolfenstein clone I played through... what a hassle. The frozen chamber/Hulk thing was cool. Also the title of the game used to crack us up every time... so cheesy in a hilarious way.
Used to have a game I feverishly was searching the title for... Realms Of Impossibility. The C64 title with the micro sprites - one of the coolest games ever.... loved it as a kid.

Accidentally posted same thread, >>2896427 now too old to delete...

Games almost faded from memory, played when you were very little, that you were too young/dumb to actually figure out how to play past a certain point back then and mostly forgot about in decades since

I've got a whole bunch of them that I only remember bits of, so I don't even know what they were named in many cases.

My parents bought almost every Interplay and Sierra game from 1991/1992, and I tried to play them (this is around Kindergarten), I definitely learned to read much faster from playing vidya

Yup. I played the SNES version of this game, it was terrible. And i don't know why, but for some reason, when you crash and the window cracks...and then that creepy music with the replay, used to scare me a lot.

Walked into a friend's house when I was six or eight or something because they had a computer with this one text adventure on it. First you had to find a sword, but you couldn't actually use the sword to fight until you found the scabbard.

I've asked about this game in every one of these threads I've seen, and while it took over a year, someone found an earlier request, so hopefully this will be found as well.

Its an RPG/Maybe Roguelike game where death is permanent, you start in your own house, limbs have their own health, and upon entering new zones you get a message that was something along the lines of 'You have entered _____. You are considered _____ here.', with the second being a reputation of sorts. I believe your character's head was visible at all times by the limbs, and he was bald. It was Freeware/shareware, and I most likely got it at download.com. A common suggestion given is IVAN, but I'm very familiar with IVAN, and it's not it.

I'll also post a game some of you may have played but forgotten about, a little gem called Ends of the Earth 2. Freeware RPG, was also on download.com and most other freeware sites. Probably the best game made using ORPGCEE, or whatever the fuck it was.

Mh, that's not it although it was a good guess. In my super hazy memory the game is more cartoonish I think.. just a bit more.. although I can't really say. And it wasn't sci-fi I think... Mh. I doubt I or anyone else will ever find out. But it's kind of an itch I need to scratch.

Do you recognize either of these, OP?

If so, the game was Rise of the Triad.

I think it was kind of like Kings Quest? I really only remember what I said though which makes it super hard...

Kinda looks like what I have in mind, though it was no shooter...

I think the room was dark when I entered and then the light went on and I saw this trash can like robot thing that started moving.

Also I'm relatively sure the tone or atmosphere of the game wasn't dark/serious.. might be mistaken as I was super young and maybe didn't understand what was going on.

OP here: I also played this other really old game.. I'm not even sure I played it since I think it always stopped working after the "intro", which is the only thing I remember: It was the skyline of a city, the camera kept going to the left or right, dunno. I'm also relatively sure it was evening or nighttime... I kinda just want to put the puzzle pieces of my faded memory together. It might even be the intro for the other game I am looking for, who knows...

Nintendo's earliest arcade games, like the horse-racing betting game and mini laser clay, are all but gone as far as I can tell. Heck, even Sheriff 2 is more or less disappeared. It's like any Nintendo machine that was pre-Donkey Kong just fell off the face of the earth.

>Psygnosis
Their logo is baller as fuck. They give the finger to legibility and it still looks awesome.

I had Novastorm for 3DO. It took me like two decades to realize that game references Auricom from Wipeout. The story FMV, gameplay background FMV, music, and atmosphere are simply breath taking. Good ol Psygnosis.
