SNES carts are getting at the age where the batteries are starting to die. I'm concerned I'll lose all my best race times.

Can't you change them?

>> No.2893586

>>2893580
Yeah, but not before taking the battery out and losing the saves.

I mean, granted, it's possible to replace the battery while the cartridge is inside the powered system, but that's a pretty big pain.

I'm pretty amazed this game still has such an active community these days.

From online play, wolrdwide tournaments, timetrial contests, course making via romhacking, etc

This kind of things is usually reserved to PC games, especially on the long term. So, respect.

But I still don't like the game because CPU Mario and Luigi are filthy cheaters.

actually, why the screen is split in 2 in all those games on the snes?

I couldn't believe it either.

Do people prefer this to 64? I had Genesis growing up and then N64 and SNES Mario Kart always looked kinda hectic due to the poor graphics (as well as the GBA one) compared to N64 Mario Kart.

They aren't people if they do.

Question: is there any benefit to making your character permently small on the select screen, like fasterness or something?

>> No.2893904

I wish all of Mario kart games had the same physics as this one...

I do, MK64 is awful compared to SMK. Blue Shell was a bad addition to the series and MK64's Rainbow Road is the worst in the entire series.

I thought they were both decent entries in their own ways. I don't mind the Blue Shells and its version of RR is far from the worst for me. I think that honor goes to DS personally.

I prefer MK64 in EVERY way. I think the fact that you can't powerslide in MK really limits the gameplay, feels kind of empty.

>> No.2899216

What? You simply bridge it while switching. Soldering recommended.
