I admit to being casual rhythm player, and I've seen some weird hardcore players.

The community got really weird after around 2006 near me.

The rhythm game community here basically got slowly overthrown by emo kids. No one wanted to be associated with those, so regulars simply gradually stopped playing at the local arcade.

I didn't get to play the R360, but I played the deluxe moving version of After Burner at a Riverboat Playhouse (a Chuck-E-Cheese knock-off) in Miami, FL back in the day... but I was just a kid and sucked at it and I think it cost 4 quarters to play which was a lot at the time...

I played this one a lot as a kid. It just spun around 360 degrees, but it was fucking dope

Yeah that's the case with most high skill level games. I've seen some qt grills who were pretty good at it in a tournament

Got to play this in Sega Centre in Paris in the 90's, the game was pretty shit but the machine was always crowded due to its novelty factor.

This, hands down by far is the best sit down arcade machine. If the arcade had the sound cranked up, it was glorious. These machines actually had really good stereo sound, I remember how booming and loud theses cabinets always were.

I came across a near perfect Rad Mobile not long ago. One of the sit-down versions too.

As of last fall or so, the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester has a full working unit of this game.

Really the whole gaming area is worth looking at as they have a lot of cool stuff. The prop cycle made an impression because it was my favorite game by far.

Sequel to first funky fighter when? With those punching pads from the Hokuto no Ken machine. I have even been wanting to make it myself in my free time.
