I think "terranigma" is a good one.
There's an early one where he plays a dating sim right after he gets married that's good.
The "quiz" games are fun because more of the cast gets put in.

I think it's best to watch seasons 2-4 in order but it's not so important later on.

Watch chronologically or you'll regret it later.

You can leave out Season 1 because it was a completely different concept. The "real" GCCX begins with Season 2.
The pastebin in the OP has a list with all episodes in the right order, including specials.

Season 1 stuff is still fun to watch. Just sprinkle it in every now and then.

I thought it was the opposite. The guy said Kacho's wife is beautiful but [too bad] their daughters look like him.

Weird, but even gave that guy a Tanii T-Shirt (the most valuable prize of the segment). He threw a half-heartedly "shut up" before chuckling. Sure, we won't know how much they edited that segment and Arino was visibly annoyed at the end.

In all honesty it probably won't ensure more localization at this point, but it doesn't hurt. The option for all Japanese audio is there, it's what's important, and if you care about owning official GCCX material and having it on the shelf, yes get it.

I still watch every single one that gets translated online, but I'm glad I bought it.

Arino was originally the boke of the duo, but Hamaguchi started to display a natural tendency for boke gags too, so Yoiko has this unique feature of having no real distinction between the tsukkomi and boke.

As for him taking a bit of banter… yes, no doubt. But while he usually does something funny at the end of every segment, he was pretty serious at the last episode of this one, they even froze the frame to notify about the abrupt end.
Maybe it wasn't about that comment on his family, but the whole segment with mostly horrible jokes? Between this and the Lemmings 24h special, looks like Arino is very critical about bad jokes/comedians - it's his job after all.

I was watching the Paris special the other day and it was kinda painful to watch Arino search for arcades, because those were never really popular in most of Europe and he also couldn't find any French/European made NES/SNES games. The whole carnival segment where he falls off the ladder and plays games meant for babies was really awkward too. I was about to shut it off but then he started playing Mario Kart with a bunch of people from all over Europe and that made me happy. Just knowing that he has a fanbase all around the world and Arino acknowledging it made me feel good for some reason. I always felt like Arino wasn't aware of how popular he is outside of Japan.

Banter is one thing, but the segment was not very good, and who ever was in charge of it fucked up big time by checking over what was submitted, or worse, thinking Arino would be alright with saying his kids were ugly.

If there's a cut segment they should bring back it's Ring Ring Tactics. Sucks they canned the Lode Runner version. Also it probably wouldn't be as viable today due to how popular the show is. (Expect tens of thousands of letters as opposed to a hundred.)

The narrator feels really souless, and the lack of music hurts the pacing.

I prefer watching him play tough and intense games. Battletoads, Super Spy Hunter, Castlevania 3, Ninja Gaiden games, Nosferatu, Prince of Persia, Punch-Out!!!, Ghouls N Ghosts series, and Adventure Island were some of my favorite episodes. Watching him struggle with hard games is entertaining to me. Still waiting on a translation for Vice:Project Doom.
