My dream castlevania game would just have the player as Sonia Belmont whipping Igarashi over and over and over and over until he apologizes.

Simon's Quest with a bigger world, better puzzles and a good translation. A big open world with lots of exploration, but with less of the collect-a-thon stuff that came with the metroidvania games.

You really, really don't. It's honestly one of the worst games ever made. It's essentially a point and click adventure game where you go around collecting items to solve puzzles and whatnot.

Except that you rarely know what you're looking for and most of what you find isn't even visible on screen. I remember finding a screwdriver or something I needed behind a trashcan. It wasn't visible at all, I only found it by walking around randomly clicking which brings me to the next bit.

Every time you look for something and don't find it she either says "I can't do it!" or "I can't do anything!" And so because the whole game involves walking around randomly looking at every inch of the environment you will hear her say those two things over and over and over and over.

The final kicker? The game requires an ENTIRE empty memory card for a single save.

The movie is great though. If you haven't seen it, it's a must watch.

Open world rpg

Massive city that has enough content for a playthrough that can happen exclusively in that city

A sotn that isn't easy as shit.

A remake of SOTN with the same graphic but with new area, enemies, weapon type and of course with a new game + mode so I can get my ass kick pretty hard. Bonus for an altered badass Dracula final boss with impossibru bullet hell attack.

Otherwise a semi roguelike/procedurally generated via a set of rooms inspired by 1-2-3-4. You play as ''insert generic name here'' Belmont and must make your way to the castle via linear levels and a castle at the end. You can found gear and weapon and gain level and have lives. If you die, your son ''X'' Belmont take your turn via different levels. Each Belmont can have a diferent special trait or abilities. All that in Rondo style pixels. Alucard DLC 3.99.

Otherwise Just a paid version of this with more boss and fighter.

>A sotn that isn't easy as shit.

It isn't easy for most of the beginning, gets so-so by the end of the first castle. It only gets easy as shit if you go for a 100% run and the best ending. Otherwise you won't even have enough mana to do soul steal twice in a row in one boss fight.

I mean yeah, it could use some better boss scaling, but that would defeat the purpose of you being able to grind for levels and killer equipment.

For me the game become extremely easy once you past the first doppelganger.

Soul steal? Fuck that, there's like a 1000 ways to break the game and make it a cakewalk. Don't get me started about the shield Rod, or even familiar!

Also pic related, this game contain an atrocious number of hidden attack ad side weapons that are very cool and completely useless the enemies just aren't enough powerful to make use of it

Action RPG. Basically Battle of Olympus but with Castlemuhvania theme and character switching. Something similar to Dracula's Shadow, if any of you have ever played it. Not sure if it's /technically/ /vr/ or entirely not /vr/ because while it was released in 2002, it was meant to run in DOS.
Anyway, Dracula's Shadow is very similar to CvII, but not nearly as obtuse. Furthermore, it had a party, with characters that follow the MC.

Or, if going with an overhead POV rather than a side-scrolling one, something Secret-of-Mana-like but with Castlemuhvania theme. Still multi-character set up, but with a Belmont MC using the whip and sub-chars from the Belnades/Fernandez family and one of the other lineages, such as Morris, Graves, Baldwin, Lecarde etc

I would love to see something wherein the Belmont protag has a pet sidekick, like Orin does with Cutrus in 8 Eyes (which is really fucking similar to Castlevania, just with an awesome as fuck falcon sidekick).

ya, my dream game would just be SCIV but more levels and harder

>> No.2859549

>Rondo of Blood controls
>Ability to switch between Belmont and a helper like CV3
>Different routes like CV3
>Cool fucking bosses like x68000

It would be the ultimate Classicvania.
