I grew up in the great cd wars of the early 90s, i am hugely fascination by FMV, night Trap is one of my favorites and i thought was really interesting.
can we have a discussion about such a unique genre.

I can only think of like maybe 10 FMV games that were any good, and that's stretching it.

I love FMV. When it's good, it's cheesy good. When it's bad, it's still kinda good. I recently played through Harvester and it's truly one of the most disturbing games I have ever played, and the full motion video just enhances the experience.
It's cheesy yet really fucking creepy.

It doesn't really belong in that "interactive movie" type of genre because it's a point'n'click adventure and it could be done without any FMV, but the FMV really makes this one of the all time classic horror-adventure games.

Realms of the Haunting has shockingly good acting and direction in it's cutscenes. Combined with the great story, awesome art design and fairly good gameplay, it's a seriously underrated game.

>FMV has thick as fuck scanlines

What the fuck. The trailer has no scanlines at all. Looks still sweet as fuck, but jesus christ that's false advertising.

It's a great game, though. Has cameos from the former CIA and KGB directors in it.

Could be the way the video was capture (I see a lot of people using a combination of shitty composite + shitty 480i + incorrect aspect ratio + incorrect framerate upload garbage on YT).
