Well at the very least there's little consolation in the fact that without Mina turning herself into a giant bird, you would have lost Nina and you never would have made it to the point where you get the flying village.

I also liked that the game actually tried to explain why turning Mina/Nina into a bird gets you stuck in that form for life, when BoF1 Nina could go in and out of it

Spar is a buffer, not a fighter. Jean is just meh unless you shaman him and learn Chop. Sten in his monstrous shamanized form however has an awesome ability I forget the name of, but it basically "rerolls" the encounter which is useful for farming drops or avoiding dangerous encounters.

Yeah the art for 3 and 4 might be the best PSX/N64-era sprite art ever created. The animations in BoF4 in particular are smooth as butter.

BOF2's graphics aren't great, but the sprites are good and the characters are interesting. Plus it has one of the darkest stories you'll ever find on the SNES, plus some other potentially subversive stuff re: character designs pic related and dialogue... I'm surprised it got past the north american censors, hoenstly.
