It's not really that simple though. You paid for a physical copy, which also means you paid for a certain lifespan. You did not pay for the rights to do whatever you want with the software on your cart.

It's the same when you download music off of iTunes or games off of Steam. You pay to use the files, but only through their system - you can't burn them to a CD or anything like that.

I'm not saying you shouldn't make backups and I'm also not saying Nintendo will hound you if you do it (they don't care much unless you sell your or share your backups), but you may be wrong in court.

All the scanning, "filters" etc. the Retron offers or assumabley pushes onto the games is in-differential as a Casual gamer. I want to drop in, play the game, get out, and be able to pick up where i left off without having to hook up a console or fucking 'emulate' uhgg..

nah m8, I just never sold any of my childhood consoles and they look just fine using S-Video on a newer TV... though I still have a couple of older CRT TVs laying around just for older video games.

yea.. cause it's super easy to hook up a SNES to a wall mounted flat panel which is 2" off the wall..

all dem cables are very easy to manuver and fish through the wall as opposed to simply plugging in an HDMI..

I don't see how that's any less "legit feeling" than using a retron with a wireless controller on an HDTV. Considering toaster-tier craptops will out-perform the retron in emulating the game since the retron uses old stolen libretron cores.
