It's the year 2015, there is literally zero reason not to play on emulators.

Videogames are a side thing for him that just ended up becoming more popular than his actual hobby. He's a film guy, specifically horror films. He's said multiple times that he'd like to get away from AVGN but he enjoys the effort that goes into making the videos, thus keeping it alive.

He (IIRC) said that he likes his fanbase, enjoys doing the episodes themselves, and everything that revolves around the whole AVGN persona. And he constantly states that he's not planning on stopping anytime soon. But that if he had a choice, he'd much rather be known for his video work than his characters. I only keep stuff I've owned since they were originally released, and bought some good stuff for real cheap in the late 90s/early 00s when 6th gen was new and people were getting rid of their old games for a nickel.

So I don't play on emulators, and I didn't pay recent "collector prices".

I think a bigger "problem" for the gaming community are speculators, but that's mainly because I don't have high regard for anyone who gets into a hobby simply for monetary gain. I don't have a real problem with it, people make money how they choose, but I just don't accept them as part of the community.
