Why can't I find a screenshot of the Famicom version's title screen? Does it not have one or something?
Also Dragon Quest thread.

dragon warrior monsters was better than pokemon, and the dragon warrior monsters 2 key system/wold gen was really cool.

Okay hotshot, let's see the third game's title screen, like I was obviously originally asking for

The first DWM was so many hours of awesome for me. Even only partly knowing what I was doing, I had a blast. My last playthrough, I realized just how broken you could make an individual monster if you bred well.

What the absolute fuck
I couldn't find anything, and when I downloaded roms all I got was this quick bullshit before being thrust into the file selection.

Not that I'm complaining. Thanks, Anon.

I don't think it was better than pokemon, but it's a very close second. I really like DWM's soundtrack, I think it's actually better than Pokemon's.

DWM was the first dragon warrior game I played, and it kind of spoiled me for the rest in the series. I've tried to play the NES titles but they feel so clunky and boring in comparison.

>>2782935

it does not.

the NES version, dragon warrior iii, has a title screen with a dragon, but the original Famicom DQIII has simly a black screen with a small "dragon quest III" text line and then it goes straight to the file select.

I've heard this was because they couldn't fit a title screen due to size memory originally.

Is there any way to turn off bilinear filtering on PSP?

Maybe it's a fanmade mockup, then? I found it on Google, and posted it, but I've never played the JP version of DQ3 before, so I really don't know.

Oh man, that looks awful.
I have no idea, but I hope you find the solution soon.

I'm assuming it's fan made, maybe.
I own the DQ III Famicom cartidge and I can guarantee you it doesn't have a title screen, just this: >>2782953

Funny how IV is a bigger game overall, but they could totally fit in a title screen there.
Ah, the march of technology.

I don't own a PSP myself, which is why I was asking. IIRC it's got a resolution of ~480 x 272 pixels, so the options wouldn't seem to be great -

-Tiny 1x scale (160x144), black bars all around

-Cropped 2x (320x288), missing 8 lines off the top/bottom at original resolution

-Nearest neighbor scaling at a non integer resolution

-Blurry as hell bilinear filtering

Retroarch comes with the "quilez.cg" shader which does a pretty good job of only applying bilinear filtering at pixel boundaries, was wondering if it's available on PSP or if it's not compatible with graphics stack etc

It's ugly, yes, but the actual content part of it is 5:1 integer ratio scaled, which makes it better than most screenshots posted here.
