What's the one thing, that when you started collecting, you knew that you wanted more than anything else? Pic related, it's mine

I have been recently actually, but they're pretty expensive for a college student

You selling any of those? lol

I have no idea when I went from buying and playing games to "collecting" games but it was probably a Neo Geo and I still don't have one. I even have multiple arcade cabinets but no MVS.

Look very closely at the picture, anon.

(nobody spoil it for him please)

I need made a decision to collect. I kept a vast majority of games I grew up with, and the ones I acquire now and games I've either always wanted to play or ones I've heard good things about from places like /vr/. So really I'm not a collector, I just never lost my passion for games and have continued to persue it into adulthood.

> tfw I will never be perfectly fluent in Japanese while owning a high quality CRT and a respectable Neo Geo collection.

Why even live?

Whats a respectable Neo-Geo Collection?

Its not like MVS is that expensive to collect for. Obviously AES is, but theres literally no reason to own an AES anymore with the sheer volume of consolized MVS available.

Multi-cart is like 150. Most games are usually in the 50-60 range, but lately people have been pushing them into the 100 because they're faggot jews.

Anyways, my MVS games:

>Puzzle Bobble
>Crossed Swords
>Magical Drop 2
>Magician Lord
>Metal Slug
>Metal Slug 2
>Metal Slug 3
>Metal Slug X
>Sengoku 3
>Strikers 1945 PLUS
>Windjammers

Pretty good variety. Favorites are Crossed Swords, Metal Slug and Magical Drop 2. Theres a few more that I feel would be good addition, Neo Drift Out, Puzzle Bobble 2/Bust-a-move again, Shocktroopers, maybe King of Monsters, another shmup or two, and maybe Neo Turf Masters, Top Hunter. Most people will call me a faggot for owning an MVS and not owning any fighting games but I don't like fighters.

But really, you don't actually need a lot of Neo-Geo games because they're usually just short stints and fun to play. I would say you realistically only need 4 games:

>Some puzzle game
Magical Drop or Puzzle Bobble usually spring to mind
>Run and Gun
Metal Slug, or Shock troopers, or Nam-1975 most likely
>A sports-style game/competitive multiplayer game
Windjammers being one of the more popular ones, but you can always pick up one of the lesser known pong-style clones like Battle Flip Shot and its still pretty fun.
>Then whatever else
Most likely a fighter, maybe a beat em up or shmup, or something kind of one-off or largely one player like Magician lord.

I'll let you know when I start. For now I'm just buying shit to play. Maybe when I retire. I hear it's a good "investment"

>>2751972
I never paid more than 2 bucks for one. I had no idea college students were so destitute today.

>>2752354
There's "literally" no reason to collect anything when you define "reason" as what you personally want. My great aunt used to collect silly spoons that you weren't even supposed to use. As long as you enjoy displaying something on a shelf and never touching it there's always "literally" a reason to collect it.

My grandma still refers to Brazil nuts as Nigger Toes when she gets drunk.

My grandfather regularly refers to blacks as Negros.

I love being white.

>> No.2752490

I didn't even know the correct (politically) name for "Brazil nuts" until my early 20's. We always called them nigger toes. Brazilians toes look damn close to those of niggers. I don't see why it's such a deal

I'm not even sure what the right term for people of the colored persuasion is. Black, white and brown seem to go down fine with everyone I know.

I love being white as well but that's just because I love being who I am. It's a definite disadvantage where I live. But no whee near as the black or brown.
