Can we talk about how uncommonly pretty this game was? For the time, but also the platforms it came out on. The art was just top notch.

Looks way to good for a Mega Drive game. They also made Lomax, so if you are into pretty pixel art, check out that game.

No kidding, almost seems like it would have made more sense on 32x or Saturn for the expanded color palette.

Those same guys made Agony and Shadow of the Beast trilogy on the Amiga.

Not exactly. All were published by Psygnosis but the teams were different.

This is my jam. Super lush, detailed pixel art with beautiful locations and smoothly animated sprites. Top Hunter is another game like this, pic related

They really do have a very distinctive art style.

Check out Nightmare Busters and Prehistorik Man for more good European pixel art.

Most euro devs were very active on the Amiga era, which has a very distinctive color palette.

Spirou and The Smurfs also look really good on the Mega Drive. It's sad that Asterix doesn't.

Alright I'm done. Really insanely pretty game though, considering it was on the pc engine, which wasn't even properly 16 bit. It did have a much larger color palette than the megadrive however which explains a bit.

Other than the large, muted palette of the Amiga, what made European pixel art look so different?

Yea but what about the other 15?
