Well they totally fucked up what that style of NES label/box looked like. Said style basically has a closeup of the player's character sprite mid-action with maybe an enemy or a projectile.

The style that pic actually went with was the standard someone-describes-a-premise and the artist creates an image with the hero (looking nothing like they should) in a dramatic pose, a sidekick (that also looks nothing like what they should), and an enemy looking menacing in the background, except that they didn't do that shit in low res pixel art, it was usually a painting or an illustration. It looks WAY too much like the actual concept except "haha, pixels, what a mad man!"

This is why i wish to learn how to code. So that i can wright script for the NES.
That 16 pin under the NES is the access port to the MB,modern chips are compatible with such ports.

Maybe because the box art is in faux-retro style and real NES box art never looked like that.

Period artwork was normally either hand drawn or used embellished/stylized sprites from the actual game so they were in correct proportion.
